The 2nd Forum on Integrated Source-Grid-Load-Storage Systems, Computing Power and Green Electricity Direct Supply was held in Shanghai on October 15–16, 2026. Organized by the Industrial Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the forum focused on coordinated planning for source-grid-load-storage integration during China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030), implementation pathways for direct green electricity supply, and emerging technologies for power-computing synergy. Experts, leading enterprises, research institutions, and end users from across the industry gathered to explore new pathways for developing China’s new-type power system.

Guo Jian, Technical Director of Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration at Guangdong Zhiguang Integrated Energy Co., Ltd. (“Zhiguang Integrated Energy”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Zhiguang Electric Co., Ltd., was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled Typical Applications of Integrated Source-Grid-Load-Storage Systems Based on Solid-State Transformers.

In his presentation, Guo noted that, driven by continued policy support for deeper source-grid-load-storage integration and increasing investment in power grid infrastructure, solid-state transformers (SSTs) are accelerating their transition from technological exploration to large-scale engineering applications. As a next-generation intelligent power conversion solution, Zhiguang’s Coota SST integrates voltage conversion, electrical isolation, power quality management, and intelligent dispatch. With overall power supply efficiency of up to 98.5%, Coota offers a full range of power solutions from 1 MW to 4.2 MW, enabling flexible configuration across diverse applications.
Building on Coota’s technological advantages, Guo presented integrated energy solutions for three key application scenarios: AI data centers (AIDCs), ultra-fast charging stations, and zero-carbon industrial parks.

SST + AIDC: Direct 10 kV Connection for High-Density Computing Power
Zhiguang’s SST connects directly to the 10 kV grid and eliminates conventional transformers and multiple voltage conversion stages, delivering power directly to an 800 V DC bus. With a voltage level three to four times that of conventional solutions, the system effectively reduces power losses and heat generation. It also responds to rapid fluctuations in computing loads within milliseconds, providing stable, high-quality DC power to server racks.
SST + Ultra-Fast Charging: Direct 10 kV-to-800 V Conversion for Megawatt-Level Charging
As 800 V high-voltage charging platforms gain momentum, Zhiguang’s SST enables direct conversion from 10 kV AC to 800 V DC, supporting megawatt-level ultra-fast charging. By coordinating energy flows between the energy storage system and the grid, it enables peak shaving and valley filling while smoothing the impact of high-power charging loads on the grid. This helps address key challenges facing conventional ultra-fast charging systems, including high conversion losses and difficulties.

The speech also shared the application results of Zhiguang Electric's solid-state transformer Coota in the Guangzhou Huangpu demonstration project. As Guangdong Province's first solid-state transformer demonstration project with fully independent intellectual property rights, it provides a replicable and scalable case model for the construction of new-type power systems.
In the future, Zhiguang Integrated Energy will continue to deepen its presence in the digital energy field, leveraging core capabilities such as integrated source-grid-load-storage solutions as a key driver to accelerate the large-scale application of SST in multiple scenarios, and work with industry partners to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of energy.
